A beautiful rustic wedding in the heart of West Sussex

A Journey from Scotland to West Sussex

When Alex and Michael asked me to come down to the south of England to photograph their wedding, I jumped at the chance. They are such a lovely couple and I knew that it was going to be a fun experience.

As a Scottish wedding photographer, I've had the privilege of capturing countless beautiful ceremonies and receptions north of the border. But there's something truly special about venturing to a different destination to document a wedding that blends Scottish and English traditions.

I couldn’t wait to photograph Alex & Michael’s stunning rustic wedding at Upwaltham Barns in West Sussex. Alex is originally from the area, while Michael and his crew are from Scotland, and their celebration was a delightful fusion of both cultures.

A High-Energy Day Filled with Love and Laughter

From the moment I arrived at Upwaltham Barns, I was struck by the venue's rustic charm and idyllic setting. The barn itself was beautifully decorated with fairy lights and greenery, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The ceremony was a heartfelt affair, filled with laughter. It was clear that they had put a lot of thought into the details, from the readings to the music. After the ceremony, we headed outside for a group photo session, where everyone was full of energy and enthusiasm, making it a joy to work with.

A Magical Sunset at Upwaltham Barns

One of the highlights of the day was the sunset portrait session. We climbed up a hill overlooking the venue and captured some great moments. The golden light bathed them in a warm glow, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

A Day to Remember

The reception was a night of ceilidh dancing, drinking, and celebrating. The guests were incredible, and the atmosphere was electric. Capturing everyone trying to master the moves is always so much fun.

I'm so grateful to have been a part of this beautiful wedding. Such a great day and an amazing experience to photograph in a new location.
