Scottish Outdoor Wedding Ceremonies
Into The Wild. Into The Unknown.
The above title definitely describes my favourite things about shooting weddings in the Scottish wilderness. It’s also the title of one of my favourite movies and a song from Frozen 2, which I can’t seem to get out of my head… thanks kids!
Speaking of Into The Wild, I’ve recently been binging on the Sky History show ‘Alone’. If you’re into wild survival shows, this is a must. It’s really made me want to get out there and try some bushcraft. I’d probably only survive around 3 days.
The current restrictions on weddings here in Scotland has really made me reminisce about all of the amazing small outdoor wedding ceremonies that I have shot throughout the years. There’s something about strapping on my hiking boots, throwing my cameras over my shoulder and rambling into the Scottish wilderness with likeminded people that really speaks to me.
All of these ceremonies have been really special in their own unique way. Yeah, sometimes the beautiful Scottish weather can be a challenge, but that’s all part of the fun isn’t it?
I’ve had a lot of my existing client’s postpone their big days until next year when (hopefully) the current restrictions have been lifted. But I’ve also had quite a few couples who have completely changed their plans and opted for an intimate occasion, followed by a big party once things have calmed down.
If you’re thinking about eloping, having a mini wedding or scaling back your current plans, please get in touch and I’d be happy to help you organise the logistics, etc.
Let’s step into the wild and go on an adventure.
