Five Star Review at a Five Star Venue

Heidi & Mark - Lodge on Loch Goil - October 2020

The Lodge on Loch Goil is one of my favourite exclusive use wedding venues in Scotland, so when Heidi enquired with me about shooting her wedding it was a hard ‘yes’. I’ve shot a few weddings at this incredible location and I every time that I visit I discover something new.

How many people can say that they spent their wedding morning on the banks of a beautiful loch and got married in an unbelievable treehouse!? Not many!

As cool as this venue is though, it’s kind of irrelevant without the people in attendance, which is why I totally lucked out with this incredible and beautiful family. Heidi and Mark chose to elope to Loch Goil, just them and their two wonderful kids. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with these guys and a true honour to photograph such an important day for their family.

“David was an amazing find. We decided to elope and get married mid pandemic (October 2020) and not tell a sole. Just our 2 kids and us. This is one reason why our photos were so important to us. David really got to understand us and our wants prior to the wedding to ensure he delivered and boy he did. It felt like working with a friend as he really provided a personalised service and listened to all our wishes. So under the radar we didn’t even realise he was there but at the same time he achieves pictures which record the feeling and atmosphere of such an important day. We now have a record of such wonderful memories, it was like our elopement wedding story in pictures. David's work is very professional and more importantly captures the moments naturally and ‘in the moment’. We have really enjoyed working with David and are grateful for the way he captured our very special day. David has to be one of the best photographers in Glasgow and beyond.
