US couple cancels big wedding and elope to Scotland
This is what happens when you cancel your $20,000 American wedding with only weeks to spare and decide to elope to Scotland...
Leah and Blake had it all planned. Vendors booked, deposits paid and invitations ready to be sent out. Then, in a moment of clarity they thought 'Screw it! Let's spend our money on something special that we believe truly represents us as a couple'. So they did.
They contacted me and told me their story and how they had a dream of an intimate Pagan ceremony in a secluded forrest in Scotland. I was tasked with finding the locations and documenting their awesome story. I must admit, I was pretty excited following our Skype call.
Leah & Blake found an AirBnB near Kirkintilloch, which is where our journey together started. The three of us then ventured to a remote little forrest near Drymen for their Pagan ceremony. I was really taken aback by the thought and preparation that had gone into their wedding ceremony. It was a really intimate and such a moving experience.
After that, we climbed up Conic Hill, which overlooks Loch Lomond. This is one of my favourite locations in Scotland and what an incredible backdrop for an elopement
I must state that this is not exactly an easy hill to climb, especially in a wedding dress, but Leah rocked some climbing boots and hiked the shit out of that hill!
The happy couple finished their epic day off with their first meal together as a married couple at the Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha.
