Dovecot Studios is one of Edinburgh’s many hidden gems. What an incredible place to get married. The building was initially built to house The Infirmary Street Baths, which were the first public baths in Edinburgh, built in 1885 by Robert Morham.

It has since turned into Dovecot is a world-renowned tapestry in the heart of Edinburgh and a landmark centre for contemporary art, craft and design. Established in 1912, Dovecot continues a century-long heritage of collaboration with international artists to make exceptional handwoven tapestries.

Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh, Dovecot Studios provided an enchanting canvas for the couple's love story. The historic venue, with its exposed brick walls and high ceilings adorned with contemporary art, set the perfect stage for a wedding that seamlessly blended tradition with modernity.

As a wedding photographer, my role is to freeze moments in time, creating memories that last a lifetime. The intimate ceremony in Dovecot Studios' event space provided a perfect canvas for capturing the raw emotions of the day. From the tearful exchange of rings to the joyous celebration on the dance floor, each photograph tells a story of love, commitment, and joy.

Dovecot Studios, with its rich history as aswimming pool turned tapestry studio turned contemporary arts hub, offered a unique backdrop for the wedding. The juxtaposition of traditional and modern elements allowed for diverse and visually striking photographs. Ali & Trevors portraits against the textured walls of the studio showcased the venue's artistic charm, creating images that are truly timeless. We also took a short walk up to The Old College for some additional pictures.
